Heritage and Tradition
The School was originally opened in 1855 in St. John's Village then moved to occupy larger grounds in nearby Knaphill in 1972. It was initially built as a first school but a second block was later added to accommodate an upper school. In response to educational developments we have recently adapted the classrooms and offices. We have also developed the use of the school grounds to encourage learning to take place outdoors.
St John's Primary School has had an association with St John's Parish Church for over 100 years. Although not a 'Church School', St John's Primary is proud to be affiliated to the local parish Church where seasonal festivals, special school assemblies and performances are held.
The school's vicar is the Rev. Tony Cannon of St John's Church of England Parish Church, St John's Village, Woking. Click on the picture to go to the Church Website
