Geography.

The geography curriculum is creatively presented through investigations and field study activities.

The Geography National Curriculum makes provision for the study of Physical, Human and Environmental Geography, and defines geographical skills of enquiry.  It also suggests studies leading to knowledge and understanding of places, patterns and processes, change and development.

Our school policy is to begin our geographical studies from situations with which the children are familiar before moving on to less familiar areas, constantly noting similarities and differences.  In this way the children approach their investigations with confidence and enjoy learning about landforms, scenery and the interaction of people and their environment.

These are carried out both locally and by making day visits to study centres and other places of interest; culminating in Year 6 making a very exciting 5-day study trip to Dorset.
