PTA event supper

There are two main aims of St. John’s Primary PTA:

  • To help build a strong school community
  • To raise money to support the school

Each year we run a calendar of events, ranging from discos and film nights for the children, pub quizzes, craft workshops and pop up cafes for the grown ups and the infamous Christmas and Summer Fairs for everyone!

Please visit the Events page of the website for dates, and be sure to put them in your diary!

As a parent/carer of a child at St. John’s you are automatically a member of the PTA!

How much or how little you choose to get involved is completely up to you!

Your PTA Committee:

  • Chair – Putri White
  • Vice Chair –
  • Secretary – Rachel Lake
  • Treasurer – Rosie Beresford
  • Catering Manager – Sol Jubrail
  • Bar Manager – Becca Stagg

How Can I Get Involved?

We are always looking for volunteers to help run the events – without parent/carers support these events just aren’t possible. It is always great to have fresh idea’s of what else we could be doing, so if you have any fundraising ideas please do get in touch.

Here are some other ways you might want to get involved;

  • Bake/buy cakes for your classes Friday Bake Sale.
  • Become a class rep – help the PTA share information with everyone in your class and get parents in your class get socialising.
  • Join the kitchen team to help cook sausages/pizza at the events.
  • Sign up to volunteer to help sell tickets, be on the bar or serve food at the events.
  • Attend PTA meetings to share your ideas or help make decisions.
  • Share a skill that might be useful to the PTA – e.g. graphic designers can help with our publications/leaflets, chef’s may volunteer to cater for a pop up cafe night, artists/crafters could run a workshop.
  • Share contacts of businesses or venues that may be able to help us.
  • Use our Just Giving account whilst participating in a sponsored event https://www.justgiving.com/stjohns-pta
  • Raise money whilst you shop using Give as You Live https://www.giveasyoulive.com/ or The Giving Machine, or using voucher codes e.g. for Microscooters or MyNameTags – visit our Fundraising page for more information.”

Contacting the PTA and Each Other

St John’s Primary PTA use Classlist as the main communications hub for events, socials and fundraisers, it is also a great way for parents/carers to connect with each other. Most St John’s parents/carers are already signed up, but if you haven’t done so yet, please visit https://classlist.page.link/3QDyS to register.

You can also e-mail us at pta@stjohnsprimary.org.uk

We’d love to hear from you!
