Singing Club hit the high notes once again!

Our very own Singing Club took to the main stage at Bristol Beacon last week.  Accompanied by a live professional band and the Bristol Beacon organ, our 40 musicians joined 500 other children from around Bristol as they sang a varied programme including Make your Own Kind of Music, Something Inside So Strong and the world premier of a wonderfully moving piece of music, In the Pipes, by the amazing Claire Allsop, inspired by two suffragettes, Elsie and Vera, who, in 1909, hid in the pipes of the Beacon organ and burst out shouting ‘Votes For Women’ during a council meeting.

The singers worked so hard – It was an absolute joy to sit at their side and see them all performing in such a professional way!

Singing Club will return in September, when we will begin work for a beautiful winter concert at Bristol Beacon in December. And for our big concert at Birmingham Arena in January as part of the Young Voices 2027 tour.

This next term will be open for booking soon (watch your emails) and will be for singers in years 4-6. Rehearsals will continue to run on a Tuesday after school.
