Advertise in the Next St John's Community Directory
Looking for a recommendation for a plumber, painter, lawyer or insurance company? Or do you have a holiday rental, give music lessons or offer another service you’d like to promote to the school community? The St John’s Community Directory is a listing of local businesses and services run by parents, carers, teachers and others in the school community – and the next edition will be published by the end of the year. If you have a business or service you would like to promote, this is your chance to spread the word (all while helping the PTA raise funds that will improve school facilities and opportunities for our children). In the coming days, watch your children’s bookbags for a letter about the directory and a form on which you can submit your advert. This year’s directory will be available online for easy access and updating.
St John's Sports Kit Sponsored by Andrews
This year, there will be more opportunities for children in the Junior school to compete in cross-country events, football and netball tournaments, tag rugby and more! We are very excited to announce that Andrews Property Group will be sponsoring a St John's sports kit for Junior school children participating in these events. We have ordered 40 kits (for both boys and girls), which will be held centrally and worn by children taking part in inter-school tournaments and competitions. We think having these kits will make a massive difference to the children's confidence and sense of team spirit when they attend sporting events. We'll post pictures on Classlist when the new kit arrives. Watch this space in the coming months!
You should have received an email about 'St John's Classlist,' which is a new communications tool we are using to connect parents and carers across the school community. It's a secure, on-line communications platform, customised specifically for schools and PTAs. Through Classlist you will be able to:
- Message parents individually within your class or year group (e.g. to arrange play dates, ask for help with the school run)
- Post messages to your class or year group (e.g. appeals for lost property, reminders about forest school kit etc.)
- Receive announcements; these may be about events organised by the PTA, socials organised by your Class Rep etc.
- Invite other parents to school-related events (e.g. your child's Birthday party)
