Working Together For The Benefit Of Our Children

At St. John's we have a very active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and if you work here or your children attend the school then you and your family are automatically members. The PTA has two main purposes:

  • To provide social events for children and adults that add to the 'family' feel of St. John's
  • To provide additional money to buy resources that enhance the time our children are in school

Film Nights, the Christmas Fair, Discos, Quiz Nights, the Summer BBQ and the Summer Fair are just some of the events that the PTA organise to provide a fun occasion for families to get together and also to raise money. In the past the PTA have been able to pay for additional musical instruments, the interactive screens in classes and the fantastic new playground equipment in both playgrounds; we are currently fundraising to pay for new laptops across the school.

So what will you do?

The PTA only works for the benefit of us all if people get involved.  Your children will benefit so what will you do to help support the work of the PTA? We all have busy lives, but if the work is shared among many people, there really isn't that much to do. You could be the parent that represents your child's class; sign up for a stint on a stall at some of the events; get together with some friends to organise an event of your own; or take a more active role on the committee . . . and if you don't have any time you can always contribute financially through support from your company or through donations through the Acorn Fund.

Your help is always appreciated and really does contribute to the life of the school and the learning and happiness of your child so do get involved - click on the PTA tab of this website to view the PTA pages.

Hope to see you at an event very soon!
