Success for the St John's Chess Team

2nd March 2018
The St John's chess team (Jack Delahoy, Hal Critchett, Oli Price, Louis Watson-Roper and Milo Griffiths) had an amazing success on Saturday 24th January, achieving 2nd place and a silver medal in their English Primary Primary Schools Chess Association heat!
They all played superbly well against some very stiff competition, including nationally rated players, and have got through to the second round of this year's tournament, to be held at BGS on Saturday 12th May.
They should all feel justifiably proud of themselves: each one of them played brilliantly and contributed to the team's overall success. It was all to play for in the final round, but they held their nerve to get themselves comfortably into the medals and through to the next stage.
Many congratulations to them all!
