I joined St John’s Primary School in 2022 as a Learning Support Assistant. I work at the Lower Redland Road site and I’m based in a Year 2 class. I thoroughly enjoy my job and the variety of roles and responsibilities that I have. I feel very fortunate to work in such a happy and supportive school. 

I came to Bristol in 1986 to complete a teaching degree and loved the city so much that I decided to stay here and make it my home. I was a class teacher for 32 years and taught in several primary schools in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. 

I have a wonderful family and live in Henleaze. My wife was also a primary school teacher for many years and is now a tutor. We have two children who are now grown up and starting lives of their own.
