Co–Opted Governor Vacancy

Volunteering at St. John’s School

We welcome parents’ help in school, expert, non-expert, regular or for an occasional visit or activity. Class teachers will be most grateful for any offers!

We also welcome members of the local community who wish to come in and help our pupils. We have a number of people who come in to hear children read and they make a significant contribution to the school. If you are interested in a role such as this then please do get in touch; any volunteers are subject to the same rigorous checks as members of staff.

Please note: you do not need to have a CRB (now called DBS) to help out in school or on trips as long as there is another adult who has been DBS checked with you. The DBS check is useful to have as it means you can hear readers outside the class or take a group on a trip unsupervised. DBS checks can be arranged through the office, so if you are able to help out regularly then talk to the admin team.

If you would like any work experience or you are a student then please contact the office who will put you in contact with our placement co-ordinator Mrs Willcocks:
