Term 5
As we enter our summer term the children will be focusing on their science unit on plants. Children will be learning all about different parts of a plant, what they need to survive, and be able to name some of the common types of trees. We hope to provide the children with lots of hands-on experiences planting over the term.
Linking our learning in English to our topic, we will be focusing on the text ‘The Green Ship’, a beautifully illustrated text by Quentin Blake. The children will be focusing on their formal, creative writing and focusing on building up the imagery in their writing. As well as this they will work on writing a set of instructions.
In Art, we will be working on our printing skills looking at Pop Art, this will include looking at the work of Anthony Warhole as well as other artists.
In P.E we will be hoping to get outside into the playground as much as possible as we begin our unit on Tennis. We will also begin to practice certain skills needed for Sports Day in term 6.
