These have included David Attenborough’s series ‘The Living Planet’ and ‘The Private Life of Plants’. He series produced Wildlife on One and created Big Cat Diary. He was head of the BBC Natural History Unit from 1998 – 2002 and later became the Controller of BBC Factual Productions. He is now a director of Silverback Films which recently made ‘Our Planet’ for Netflix: a multi award winning series that that included 2 Emmy Awards. His next production is ‘David Attenborough – A Life on Our Planet’, which premiers on 16th April in The Royal Albert Hall with a simultaneous cinema release across the UK. The talk will last about an hour and will be perfect for children in KS1 and 2 (and their parents as well!).
Money raised from the talk will go to Uganda to fund over 100 children from Kamurasi school, Masindi (a link school) to go to the Budongo rainforest. This is threatened by deforestation and is home to a population of chimpanzees! We are hoping that funding local children (who could not otherwise afford to go) will help them to realise the importance of protecting their local environment.
