French Partner School – Year 5&6 Pen Pal exchange

We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with a French primary school near Bordeaux in France to start a pen pal letter writing exchange for our Year 5 and Year 6 children.

The school is a primary school in the village of Cabanac-et-Villagrains, which is approximately 30km from Bordeaux in the south-west of France. As Bristol and Bordeaux have been twin cities since 1947, we are really pleased to be part of the Bristol Bordeaux Partnership through our school.

After October half term, Year 5s and Year 6s will receive their first letters from the children in the French school and will be writing letters back to them during French lessons. The exchange of letters will be ongoing throughout Year 5 and Year 6 so that the children can exchange information about themselves, their hobbies and interests. We hope that writing and receiving letters with a French child of their own age will motivate our children in their French learning whilst also improving their reading and writing skills in French.
