Ice Explorers

KS1 welcomed a rather wrapped-up visitor on Wednesday! As part of our new ‘Ice Explorers’ topic, Ernest Shackleton himself (otherwise known as Mr Hoye), came to tell us about his expedition to the South Pole on his ship, Endurance.

Perhaps you child could tell you how many people he recruited for his trip, how many dogs he brought with him, and how far away from the South Pole he got… what got in the way of his ship not quite making it?
