NW24 Art Collaboration

In Year 3&4, the children have been completing a collaborative piece of art to contribute towards a NW24 project. Schools wishing to be involved, were tasked with recreating a Samuel Jackson painting of the view from Hotwells of the Suspension Bridge, with a modern twist.

Miss Copeland who is an artist alongside being a fantastic LSA, helped us by painting the background. Then, using our skills from a previous printing unit, the children created their own printing tile, with a partner, to create features of the scene. Each class had a responsibility:

  • Balloons – Hot air balloons
  • Carnival – Buildings
  • Dragonboats & Harbour – Boats
  • Kites – plants and leaves

This artwork will be on display (details below) within the community, before being placed somewhere special at the Worrall Road site.

The exhibition runs from Tuesday 1st July – Friday 4th July.    (Term 6,  Week 5). The church is open to visitors during ‘daylight hours.’

Address: St Mary’s Church, Mariners Drive, Stoke Bishop, Bristol BS9 1QJ.
