The focus of our fundraising over the past couple of years has been The Playground Appeal where we were set the ambitious task of raising £70,000 to update the playgrounds at both Worrall Road and Lower Redland Road.
Amazingly, with a lot of hard work and support from parents and carers at St John’s we achieved this target within 2 years and the children have been enjoying their new exciting and stimulating playgrounds.
Over the years the PTA has also funded many other things;
- Laptops
- iPads
- Interactive whiteboards
- Learning resources and play equipment
- Library books
- Other regular commitments such as a Classroom and Special Educational Needs allowance
The Acorn Fund
The Acorn Fund is an easy way of donating money to the St John’s School PTA who raise money to fund vital resources and equipment for the school. The Giving Machine
The Giving Machine is a not-for-profit social enterprise, which helps shoppers generate free cash donations for the causes they want to support every time they shop on-line.
It’s free and easy to register, and you can generate funds for St John’s with your on-line shopping (at no additional cost to you). There are hundreds of participating shops including Amazon, Tesco, Sainsbury, M&S, ebay, Toys R Us, Next, John Lewis, and many more.
How does it work?

- Click on ‘Join in’ at the top
- Click on ‘Join as a Giver’
- Click on ‘Choose a cause to support’
- Where it says “Enter Keywords” type in “St. John’s CE VC Primary School Clifton” (make sure you get this exactly right as there are more than one St Johns Clifton!) and hit ‘Search’
- St. John’s should come up at the top of a list, click the red “Choose” button
- Fill out your details on the right hand side of the screen

The ‘Scooters for Schools’ Initiative with Micro-Scooters
If anyone is thinking of buying a scooter or any of the amazing range of accessories that can go with them, please do consider going to the www.micro-scooters.co.uk site. Micro Scooters will donate 10% of every purchase to St. John’s.
All you need to do is put in our school’s unique reference number when you place your order. That number is 109146. This is a really easy way for the school to make money from gifts people are planning on purchasing anyway – please remember to use the code and get earning!!
