I have been teaching at St John’s for 11 years across Key Stage Two, currently as part of the Year 5/6 team. I have had a variety of responsibilities during my time at St John’s, including phase leader and subject lead for Maths. I am currently responsible for helping to coordinate support for pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and I am subject lead for Religious Education and Worldviews.
Prior to St John’s, I worked in other Bristol schools and overseas in Japan for several years. I love working at St John’s, developing strong relationships with my pupils and I’m especially interested in creative approaches to the curriculum (including drama and puppetry!) I particularly enjoy helping to run the Year 6 production and seeing how children grow in confidence through drama and music.
I live in Bristol with my husband and two children. I believe that learning is a lifelong endeavour and that I can continually reflect on and improve my practice. In my spare time, I am embarking on a Professional Doctorate in Education at UWE.
