Redland Library Code Club

There is a free Code Club course starting on 28th September and running every Saturday, at 11.15am-12.15pm for 12weeks at Redland Library, giving the opportunity to 8 children to learn how to code.

Code Club is a volunteer-run coding course that runs like an after-school club across Bristol Libraries. Aimed at 8-11-year-olds, Code Club has been helping children at Bristol Library clubs, to learn three useful development languages – Scratch, Python and HTML. Our clubs are free and in-person, fostering a sense of creativity and community alongside the core programming skills we want to encourage.

Giving children the skills to code at a young age is invaluable. It’s up there with learning a new language or picking up a musical instrument – it’s a skill that could change the child’s life for the better. Not only does learning coding skills set them up for a career in a high-demand sector, but it covers a skill area which modern life seems to require.

To book your space, you should contact libraries.volunteering@bristol.gov.uk or Redland library at: 0117 9038549 or redland.library@bristol.gov.uk .
